How the calculator works
Real calls vary in length, so the calculator spreads them evenly from 30 seconds below to 30 seconds above the typical length you enter, one second apart, and averages what each billing plan charges across that spread. Per-second billing charges the seconds talked; per-30-second and per-minute billing round each call up to the next block.
Why the increment matters
Short calls are where rounding hurts most: a 7-second call that does not get past hello is billed as a full minute under per-minute rounding. On a lead list with many short calls, the increment can matter more than the headline rate.
What to ask any vendor
- Is talk time billed by the second, by 30 seconds, or by the minute?
- Is there a minimum charge per connected call?
- Are unanswered or busy calls charged?
- Are there platform, seat or number fees on top of talk time?
Frequently asked questions
Does ElevateBox bill per second?
Yes. Calls are charged ₹7.98 a minute by the second, rounded up to the next paisa, with no minimum per call. A 25-second call costs ₹3.33.
What is a billing increment?
The unit a call's length is rounded up to before it is charged: one second, 30 seconds or a full minute. The smaller the increment, the closer the bill is to the time actually talked.
How much does per-minute rounding add on average?
When call lengths are spread out, per-minute rounding adds about half a minute per call on average, because each call's last part-minute is charged in full.
